FAQ’s

  1. How long is the healing process?

Regardless of receiving body art, permanent makeup, or a paramedical tattoo, skin typically takes a full 4 weeks to go through all three phases of healing to truly see the final result. Even if it may appear healed in a shorter amount of time, always allow your body to heal and follow the aftercare closely for a full 4 weeks. You are investing in a permanent change to your skin, you might as well take exceptional care of it! Large scale body art pieces definitely tend to heal at a bit of a slower rate than small scale or PMU since there is more “trauma.”

2. Can I schedule an in person consultation?

You absolutely can! You have an option to book online an in person consultation with me for all permanent makeup, paramedical tattoos, and esthetician services using the booking link for DVCMT here: https://desertvalleycosmetictattoo.as.me/

If you’d like to schedule an in person consultation for body art, send in your inquiry on my artist page for Sentient Tattoo here: https://sentienttattoocollective.com/celli-villarreal/ and be sure to write that you’d like to schedule an in person consultation in your message.

3. How should I prepare for my appointment?

For body art, permanent makeup, and paramedical tattoos: please eat a nice meal at least 2 hours before your appointment and stay hydrated. Hydrated and moisturized skin always takes pigment much more efficiently than dry skin. Be sure to properly moisturize during the days leading up to your appointment. I highly encourage you to bring snacks, water and maybe a juice or electrolyte beverage for all tattoo services.

For all permanent makeup and esthetic skin services, please come in with a bare clean face; no makeup please! If you have lash extensions, I highly encourage you to book your permanent makeup or facial service just before you need a fill to prevent any damage to a fresh set of lashes. If you have makeup on before coming in for a lip or brow wax, no worries, I will clean the makeup off prior to waxing.

4. Why is a booking fee required? Is it refundable?

I kindly request a $50 non-refundable booking fee for body art. For all permanent makeup and paramedical tattoo services, I kindly request a $100 non-refundable booking fee. **These fees will be applied as a deposit and credit towards the overall cost of your appointment, you will owe the remaining balance day of service. I require this fee to hold clients accountable for their appointments and avoid no-shows; being respectful of my time. If booking fee is unpaid within 72 hours of scheduled appointment, your appointment will be marked as unconfirmed and subject to cancellation to be an open spot for another client.

For all esthetician services, you have the option of paying the full amount ahead of time, or to reserve with your card on file.

5. What is your cancellation policy?

I kindly ask for a minimum of a 48 hour cancellation. If you cancel less than 48 hours, please note that your booking fee towards body art, permanent makeup, and paramedical tattoos may be forfeited and you will be required to pay another booking fee for your rescheduled date.

6. What is your minimum for body art?

My minimum is $100. Yes, even a single dot of ink tattooed will still be $100. Keep in mind, the cost of material supplies for disposables, needles, and ink have increased exponentially in the last few years.

7. Do you accept insurance?

At Desert Valley Cosmetic and Medical Tattoo, we do accept insurance for paramedical tattoos only. Please note, your insurance company will need to approve that we are within their network.

8. Am I allowed to use numbing?

I am all about comfort! If you are going to use a primary numbing for body art however, I highly encourage that you please test patch on your skin on a different day before your scheduled appointment. Preferably at least a week before your appointment. This is to double check that you do not have any allergy to the numbing you purchased and prevent risk of a reaction day of service. **Lidocaine toxicity is real! Please do not apply pre-numbing for more than 1 - 1.5 hours before appointment.

Please do not use any primary numbing before your permanent makeup service, I will provide numbing for those services that are specially formulated to be used on the face. If you’d like to test any of the numbing I use for PMU prior to your service, we can certainly coordinate that.

9. How much time should I plan to spend at the studio for my service?

You have the option to choose from our service the duration of time you’d like for all esthetician facial services. All waxing and tinting services are about 10-20 minutes.

Plan to be with me for about 3 hours for all permanent makeup services; please note that the longest part of those services is typically the design aspect. I value myself on creating the most optimal designs best suited for your face shape. For permanent eyeliner and lip blushing, I will have you sit with a primary numbing for 30-45 minutes before we even begin tattooing to help make the service as comfortable as possible.

Paramedical tattoos time duration will vary on based on how much surface of the area we will be working on.

Body art tattoos will vary on time based on intricacy, placement on body, size, color, etcetera. I will have a more accurate estimate of time needed after our consultation whether it be in person or via emails/ direct messaging.
